Tell It Like It Is Tuesday: Weight Watchers Frozen Treats

I’m sure you are familiar with the Weight Watchers program. Out of all the weight loss programs on the market today, Weight Watchers seems to be the one constant that is both positively spoken about by my friends and that my doctors are 100% in support of. I have been a member of Weight Watchers online in the past (unfortunately even though it is quite cheap, I had to make some budget slashes when I began staying home with Lily Bean). I have to say, once you learn the WW basics, you are good to go. They taught me about portion control, sensible snacking, and that I could still eat foods that I love, in moderation.

Following the Weight Watchers’ program interested me so much that I even bought this points calculator. It is small and easy to tote to the store or restaurant for a quick point check. Points are calculated based on a food’s calories (the lower the better), fat grams (the lower the better), and the dietary fiber (the higher the better). I really enjoy the Weight Watchers frozen meals- Smart Ones. I always used to take these to work for a yummy lunch- and the points value is right on the package- no surprises.

So, you can obviously tell I am a fan of Weight Watchers. I was THRILLED when I got the chance to try one of their ice cream desserts for FREE! Dessert is always hard for me at the end of the day. I am a complete choc-a-holic which can spell disaster for a whole day of healthy eating!

I was impressed by how many choices there were at the grocery store. Weight Watchers has a whole line of mouth watering frozen desserts. The best part? All of their frozen novelty products are less than 200 calories and only 1-3 Weight Watchers Points!!! So what did I end up choosing? Well, I finally narrowed it down to Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwiches (only 2 points each)!

YUM! They are really tasty! They’re a decent size, too, which surprised me because 2 Points is such a healthy option…I would expect that you would have to sacrifice size for taste. I decided to take a look at how these desserts stacked up nutrition-wise to my free candy bars that I got last week from Walmart…

YIKES!! How’s that for a comparison? While this ice cream sandwich might not taste quite as rich as a Snickers Bar, it won’t add to exploding love handles either! :)

Weight Watchers has some fun technology aspects as well. I had a lot of fun trying out the Snack Widget! I loved seeing what suggestions it would spit out when I told it what foods I was craving! Their supermarket foods division has a Facebook Page that you can become a fan of…AND you’ll definitely want to check out IncrEdible Rewards site- a fun incentive for purchasing WW treats!

I will happily be adding Weight Watchers frozen treats to the other WW products that I enjoy buying: Smart Ones, bread, English Muffins, and Yogurt! What’s your favorite Weight Watchers treat?!

P.S. I even caught Biker Bob trying one of these ice cream sandwiches the other night. He is a “big-bowl-of-chocolate-ice-cream-every-night” kind of guy. After biting into the sandwich he proclaimed, “Hey! Not bad!” :)

Weight Watchers provided me with the product reviewed above free of charge. I was not paid or compensated in any way for this review, besides receiving free product.
